You can
put this solution on YOUR website!
z + 4j = -195
8z - j = -75
Use the Elimination Method and eliminate the j by multiplying the second equation by 4:
z + 4j = -195
32z -4j = -300
Add these equations together:
33z = -495
Divide both sides by 33:
z= -495/33=-15
Substitute x=-15 into the first equation
z + 4j = -195
-15 + 4j = -195
4j = -180
j = -45
Check by substituting both numbers in the second equation:
8z - j = -75
8(-15) - (-45) = -75
-120 + 45 = -75
It checks!!
