You can
put this solution on YOUR website! i need help with this one math problem i already did the problem but i don't
think it's right and i would like for you to tell me whether it is or not and
if it's wrong will you pleasze tell me what i did wrong. proiblem:
2x+-y=32
2x+y=60. the answer i got to this problem was 23,-45.
It's half correct. Your value of x = 23 is correct. So you must have made an
error when you substituted 23 for x to find y
I'm a little confused about the double sign in "2x+-y=32". Usually we don't
find a "+-" given in an equation. I take that to be "2x-y=32".
To find the correct value for y, we substitute 23 for x in either of the
equations:
Using the first
   2x - y = 32
2(23) - y = 32
   46 - y = 32
       -y = 32 - 46
       -y = -14
      -1y = -14
        y = -14/-1
        y = 14
So the solution is (x,y) = (23,14)
