Question 220664: Is -4x squared = 0 a quadratic equation? I am supposed to solve each quadratic equation using any technique, name the technique, and check. But I do not think this is a quadratic equation because it is not written in a form of y = ax squared + bx + c. I think to solve x would equal 0. Am I right or do I totally not understand? You can put this solution on YOUR website! Is -4x squared = 0 a quadratic equation? I am supposed to solve each quadratic equation using any technique, name the technique, and check. But I do not think this is a quadratic equation because it is not written in a form of y = ax squared + bx + c. I think to solve x would equal 0. Am I right or do I totally not understand?
-------------------
It is quadratic.
-4x^2=0
Divide both sides by -4 to get:
x^2 = 0
x = 0
