so I need a fraction less than 1%2F12.
One-half of 1%2F12 is 1%2F24
11%2F12+%2B+1%2F24+=+22%2F24+%2B+1%2F24
22%2F24+%2B+1%2F24+=+23%2F24
23/24 is a number between 11/12 and 1
check:
11%2F12+=+.9167
23%2F24+=+.9583
