You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The equation should be 3%282x-5%29=1%2B4x. We're not looking for two numbers. We just want to find that one unknown value of 'x'.

3%282x-5%29=1%2B4x Start with the given equation.

6x-15=1%2B4x Distribute.

6x=1%2B4x%2B15 Add 15 to both sides.

6x-4x=1%2B15 Subtract 4x from both sides.

2x=1%2B15 Combine like terms on the left side.

2x=16 Combine like terms on the right side.

x=%2816%29%2F%282%29 Divide both sides by 2 to isolate x.

x=8 Reduce.

Answer:

So the solution is x=8 which means that the unknown number is 8.
