You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Amy Pilot observes the angle of depression of a point on a landing field to be 28 degrees and the plane's altitude is 1370 meters. What is the distance from Amy to the observed point on the landing field?
--------------------------------------------------
Draw the picture.
You have a right triangle with height = 1370 m.
The triangle angle at the plane is 62 degrees.
The distance you want is the hypotenuse of the triangle.
-----------------
Equation:
cos(62) = 1370/x
hypotenuse = x = 1370/cos(72) = 4433.41 meters
