x%5E2%2Bx=0 Start with the given equation.


x%28x%2B1%29=0 Factor.


x=0 or x%2B1=0 Use the zero product property.


x=0 or x=-1 Solve each equation for 'x'.


So the solutions are x=0 or x=-1
