You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve each equation or inequality

p+-2%2F3=5%2F6

Step 1. Multiply by 6 to get rid of denominators.

6p-6%2A2%2F3=6%2A5%2F6

6p-4=5

Step 2. Add 4 to both sides of the equation

6p-4%2B4=5%2B4

6p=9

Step 3. Divide 6 to both sides of the equation

6p%2F6=9%2F6=3%2F2

p=3%2F2

Check...p-2%2F3=3%2F2-2%2F3=%289-4%29%2F6=5%2F6...which is a true statement.

Step 4. ANSWER: p=3%2F2

I hope the above steps were helpful.
