You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x be one number. Then the other number is (x+3)
Given:
x%5E2+%2B+%28x%2B3%29%5E2+=+117
x%5E2+%2B+x%5E2+%2B+6x+%2B+9+=+117
2x%5E2+%2B+6x+-+108+=+0
2%2A%28x%5E2+%2B+3x+-+54%29=0
2%2A%28x%2B9%29%28x-6%29+=+0
So x = -9 or x=6
The problem asked for natural numbers, so the smaller number is x=6 and the other one is 6%2B3=9
