You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The number is between 10 and 100.
The number is an even number less than 50.
The sum of the digits in the ones place and the tens place is the double of 5.
The tens place digit is 2 less than the one place digit.
What is the number?

Step 1. Let be x be the digit of the ones place and let y be the digit of the tens place.

Step 2. Let x+y=2*5=10 since sum of the digits in the ones place and the tens place is the double of 5

Step 3. Let y=x-2 since the tens place digit is 2 less than the one place digit

Step 4. We now have a system of linear equations given as

x+y=10
-x+y=-2

Step 5. Add these two equations to get 2y=8 or y=4. Then x=10-4=6.

Check...46 satisfies the number between 10 and 100 and the number is an even number less than 50.

Step 6. ANSWER: The number is 46.

I hope the above steps were helpful.
