1) 8k%2B4+=+13 Get the term with the variable, k, by itself by subtracting 4 from both sides of the equation.
8k%2B4-4+=+13-4
8k+=+9 Now "undo" the multiplication on the left side by dividing both sides by 8.
8k%2F8+=+9%2F8 Evaluate.
k+=+9%2F8 or k+=+11%2F8

8K=9

8K%2F8=9%2F8

K=9%2F8

Check: 8*(9/8)+4=9+4=13=13 which is a true statement.
