The general distributive rule is a(b+c) = ab+ac
----------------------------------
In your case: -6xy(14x - 7) = (-6xy)(14x) - (-6xy)(7)
= -84x^2y + 42xy

Remember a%28b%2Bc%29=ab%2Bbc where 'ab' really means a*b (ie 'a' times 'b')


So in this case:

-6xy%2814z-7%29=-6xy%2814z%29-6xy%28-7%29=-84xyz%2B42xy


In short, -6xy%2814z-7%29=-84xyz%2B42xy
