You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I am a mom and trying to see if my daughter got this question right. She is a 7th grader. Her question is Use the distributive property to write an equivalent expression. Then evaluate the expression.

The problem is -3(16+5-1)

Her answer is:

-3*16+(-3)*5-3*(-1)
-48+(-15)-3
-60 (should be -66 not -60)

I rewrote your expressions above and your daughter got the steps correctly except for the last line should add up to -66.

I hope the above modified steps were clear.
