You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If four times the sum of a number and 5 is divided by 3, the result is 16.

Step 1. Let x be the number.

Step 2. 4%28x%2B5%29%2F3 Four times the number and 5 is divided by 3

Step 3. 4%28x%2B5%29%2F3=16 The result is 16

Step 4. Multiply by 3 to both sides of equation to get rid of denominator

3%2A4%2A%28x%2B5%29%2F3=3%2A16

4x%2B20=48

Step 5. Subtract 20 from both sides of equation

4x%2B20-20=48-20

4x=28

Step 6. Divide by 4 to both sides of equation

4x%2F4=28%2F4

x=7

Step 7 ANSWER is x=7.

I hope the above steps were helpful.
