Question 213449: I have a word problem to solve. I saw it solved on here before, submitted it to my teacher and it was wrong. Could somebody please help me with this one!
Michael tosses a horseshoe at a stake 30 ft. away. The horseshoe lands no more than 3 ft. from the stake. Writa an absolute value inequality that represents the range of distance that the horseshoe travels. Solve the inequality.
This is the one I saw here before:
Ix-30I<+3
-3<=x-30<=3
-3+30<=x-30<=3+30
27<=x<=33
Thanks for the help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I have a word problem to solve.
Ix-30I<+3
-3<=x-30<=3
-3+30<=x-30<=3+30
27<=x<=33
========================
The answer is correct.
The 3rd line is incorrect.

Correction:
|x-30| <=3
-3 <= x-30 <= 3
-3+30 <= x <= 3+30
27 <= x <= 33
========================
