You can put this solution on YOUR website!
V=%281%2F3%29+%2Api%2Ar%5E2%2Ah

r=1, h=5

V=%281%2F3%29%2Api%2A1%5E2%2A5=5.23 cubic inches approximately

To convert to cubic centimeters, multiply by the conversion factor 2.54^3

V=5.23%2A2.54%5E3=85.76 cubic centimeters approximately

R^2

What is the volume of a paper cup with a diameter of 2 inches and 5 tall converted to centimeters.

Step 1. Note that 1 inch = 2.54 centimeters.

Step 2. Assume Volume of cup is equal to volume of cylinder.

Step 3. Volume of cylinder V=pi%2A%28d%2F2%29%5E2%2Ah where d/2 is the radius, d is the diameter, h is the height

V=pi%2A%282%2F2%29%5E2%2A5

V=pi%2A5 in%5E3

Step 4. 1 inch cube = (2.54)^3 centimeters cube or 16.387 cm^3. So

V=pi%2A5%2A16.387

V=+pi%2A81.935=257.41 cubic centimeters ANSWER

I hope the above steps were helpful.

And good luck in your studies!
