Using the factoring approach we have the following

Step 1. Let +x=+m%5E%281%2F3%29
Then the 2m%5E%282%2F3%29%2B3m%5E%281%2F3%29-2=0 becomes an quadratic equation in x since m%5E%282%2F3%29=%28m%5E%281%2F3%29%29%5E2

2x%5E2%2B3x-2=0

Step 2. After trial and trial, we have

0=2x%5E2%2B3x-2=%282x-1%29%28x%2B2%29 we can verify using the FOIL method

Step 3. Now we have 2x-1=0 and x+2=0

2x-1=0

Add 1 to both sides to isolate x terms on left side

2x-1%2B1=0%2B1

2x=1

Divide 2 on both sides to get x

2x%2F2=1%2F2

x=1%2F2
