3(t+2) + 4t = 24
3t + 6 + 4t = 24
3t + 4t = 24 - 6

Allan works for 2 days and finished 2(1/8) = 1/4 th of the job.

Equation:
Together rate = (1/8 + 1/6) = 14/48 = 7/24 job/day

Let x be the number of days for allan and ben to finish 3/4 th of the job.

x(7/24) = 3/4
x = (24/7)(3/4)
x = 18/7 = 2 4/7 days
