Question 212955: The question given to me was " find the measure of an angle whose supplement measures 2 degrees more than three times the measure of it's complement."
I understand what complimentary and supplementary angles are, but I am confused on how to complete this problem. Please don't just give me the answer, I need to be able to explain how to do these types of problems.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the angle be A, then its supplement is 180-A and its complement is 90-A.
highlight_green%28180-A+=+3%2890-A%29%2B2%29 Simplify and solve for A.
180-A+=+270-3A%2B2 Add 3A to both sides.
180%2B2A+=+272 Subtract 180 from both sides.
2A+=+92 Divide both sides by 2.
