What shortcut can you use to multiply by 10,100,1000, etc. (by powers of 10)?

Step 1. Count the number of zeros in 10, 100, 1000, etc.

Step 2. Add a the same # of zeros to the number you are multiplying.

For example,

10%2A5=+50 added 1 zero to 5

100%2A5+=+500 added 2 zeros to 5

100%2A50+=+5000 added 2 zeros to 50

1000%2A5+=5000 added 3 zeros to 5

1000%2A50+=+50000 added 3 zeros to 50
