: Please help me solve this equation to graph inequality and plot at least five points.
This is the steps I tried x-2y =6
x -2+2 = 6+2
X + 0 = 8
x = 8
I read the example 3 an 5 on page 175 and 177, but I don't get it. My solution above for the first part may be wrong. I want to follow the correct steps.

This is the steps I tried x-2y =6

Solve for y:
2y = x-6
y = (1/2)x-3
---------------------
If x = 0, y = -3
If x = 2, y = -2
If x = 4, y = -1
If x = 6, y = 0
If x = 8, y = 1
