i keep coming up with different answers that don't reflect

You can put this solution on YOUR website! lets take away the paratheses. the problem would be -3 minus x. the minus would be changed to addition ad the x becomes a negative, so the problem now reads as "-3 + -x. since both are negatives, the problem becomes -3x. hope i helped, and i hope i'm right.
