I changed your problem from 5 m to 5 cm. If this is incorrect, follow the steps below and substitute 5m = 500 cm. In other words, substitute 5 for 500.
Step 1. Area = base times height or A=bh where b= 240 and h=5.
Step 2. Area is calculated as
Step 3. Area is 1200 square centimeters.

Since base = 240 cm, and height = 5 m, we need to convert to same measure, so in this case, we'll convert 240 cm to meters. This equals 2.4 meters.
