-2x-2=5x+10 <--add 2x to both sies
(-2x-2)+2x=(5x+10)+2x
-2=7x+10 <--subtract 10 from both sides
-2-10=(7x+10)-10
-12=7x <--divide both sides by 7
-12%2F7=7x%2F7
x=-12%2F7, or -15%2F7
