| Question 212171: I am not sure if this is a quadratic actually, but I wasn't sure what selection in the drop down menu fit this problem.
 The equation I am stuck on is s=1/3gt^2 (gt squared) and it says to solve for t
 I tried a few methods to try to get t over on the left alone but I keep getting stuck.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! s=1/3gt^2,,,,,,,,,we think it should be 1/2 gt^2, but we'll do the problem as is,,,but g is not squared .
 multiply by 3,,,,,and divide by g
 .
 3s/g = t^2
 .
 take  square  root  both  sides
 .
 t - +/- sqrt(3s/g),,,,,,,,answer
 .
 .
 if, s=1/3(gt)^2,,, then just mult by 3
 .
 3s = (gt)^2
 .
 take  sq rt
 .
 gt = +/- sqrt(3s)
 .
 t= +/- [sqrt(3s)}/g
 .
 .
 However,  we  still  like,,,,t= +/- sqrt(2s/g)
 .
 .
