4-x = second piece (the other piece)
Write the equation:
x = 2/3(4-x)
Multiply both sides by the denominator 3 to clear the fraction:
3x = 2(4-x)
3x= 8 -2x
5x=8
x=8/5
The "other piece" is 4-x, which is 4-8/5
Get a common denominator of 5
