the taco contained 1kg of onion for every 6.6kg of grilled steak. the total weight of these two ingredients was 617.6kg. to the nearst tenth of a kilogram, how many kilograms of onions and how many kilograms of grilled beef were used to make the taco?
-------------------------------
The ration of onion to steak is 1:6.6
Equation:
x + 6.6x = 617.6
7.6x = 617.6
x = 81.26 (weight of onions in the taco)
6.6x = 6.6*81.26 = 536.32 (weight of grilled steak in the taco)
