Question 210053: I am drawing a complete blank on how to work the following problem. I have looked through my book and I cannot find a problem that is set up like this one. I had this question on a test and I was given the correct answer of {2/15,-3} but as I said, I am drawing a complete blank on how to get that answer.
I thank you in advance for your time and consideration in helping me with this problem.
6/x^2 - 43/x = 15
Thanks again,
Carol

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
multiplying by x^2 ___ 6 - 43x = 15x^2

subtracting (6 - 43x) ___ 0 = 15x^2 + 43x - 6

factoring ___ 0 = (15x - 2)(x + 3)

15x - 2 = 0 ___ 15x = 2 ___ x = 2/15

x + 3 = 0 ___ x = -3
