The volume of a rectangular solid is given by:
v=lwh
Where l=length, w=width, and h=height
The area of the base is given by:
A=lw=1.2
You can substitute this value for lw into the original equation and get the volume:
v=1.2%2A2
highlight+%28v=2.4%29 cubic meters
