Question 209974: The length of a rectangle is 1 cm more than twice the width w. Express the perimeter of the rectangle in terms of w.
P = 2l + 2w
Length: 1 + 2w
Width: w
P = 1 + 2w + w = P = 1 + 3w, right?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Well, you're ok up to the last line.
P = 2L+2W but L = 2W+1, so...
P = 2(2W+1)+2W simplify.
P = 4W+2+2W
P = 6W+2 This is the perimeter in terms of the width, W. Notice that the length, L, does not appear in the equation.
