Question 209826: could someone please help.I posted these about 4 days ago,but got no response.Thanks
find the equation for f^-1(x)
1. f(x) = -3x
2. f(x) = x-7
3. f(x) = (-2/5)x + 10
4. f(x) = x^2 + 1
rewrite as logarithmic equations.use your calculator to solve for x.round to the nearest thousandths.
(a) 9^x = 60
(b) 4^3x = 100
(c) 6^(x+2) = 42
compute
1. (4 X 10^4)(7 X 10^-6)
2. (2 X 10^-4)divided by (8 X 10^-9)
thank you so much for the help.I really appreciate your time and effort.Sarah Answer by nyc_function(2741) (Show Source):

Find the equation for f^-1(x)
1. f(x) = -3x
I will do the first question only.
Let y = f(x)
y = -3x
Now, switch x and y.
x = -3y
Divide both sides by -3.
x/-3 = y
Replace y with the inverse function notation.
x/-3 = f^(-1)x
We can also write the answer as -x/3 = f^(-1)x
