A = 48sq.in - 3sq.in. = 45sq.in.
The cost is found by multiplying the cost per square inch ($3.50 per sq.in) by the number of square inches in the area (45sq.in.)
$3.50X45sq.in = $157.50
The cost of construction is $157.50
