Question 20820: Hello ! My problem is solving equations with variables on both sides.
6-(-5r)=5r-3. THANKS !!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! With problems such as this one where there are variables on both sides, we must try and get the variable - in this case, r - on one side, and the constant on the other side.
To tack this particular problem, we will start off by subtracting both sides by 6, which leaves us with:
-(-5r)=5r-9
Now that we've got the constant on one side we can shift subtract both sides by 5r. (Note: -(-5r) is basically the same as 5r).
0=-9
We end up with 0=-9, which means that 6-(-5r) will never be equal to 5r-3 at any real point.
