You can put this solution on YOUR website! A plane leaves the airport heading east at an airspeed of 250 miles per hour, then turns back and returns at an airspeed of 220 miles per hour. If the plane can stay in the air 9 hours, how far can it travel?
------------
It depends on how fast it goes.
d = rt
d = r*9

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since the plane traveled at 250 mph, turned around and returns at a speed of 220 mph, it traveled the same distance both ways
Using D for distance, we can say that:
22D + 25D = 49,500 ---- (Multiplying equation by LCD, 5,500)
47D = 49,500
= 1,053.19
Therefore, for 9 hours, it can travel a total of (2 * 1,053.19) miles.
-----------
Check:
-----------
= 4.21 hours
= 4.79 hours
4.21 + 4.79 = 9 hours
