Have you entered number two correctly because it has only one solution?
3x+2=5x-4
subtract 5x and 2 from both sides
3x-5x+2-2=5x-5x-4-2
-2x=-6
multiply through by -
2x=6
x=3
B)
3x+2=5x-y
-2x+y=-2
2x-y=2
2(0)-y=2
y=-2
2x-0=2
x=1
