I know I need to square everything to remove the radical sign, when you square though is the "8" squared that is infront of the expression.

I'm not sure I follow you correctly. Is this a rational equation or a radical equation? If you want to use square roots, then use sqrt( ). Please repost to clarify.


Example: to type in sqrt%282%29, type sqrt(2). If you want to use fractions, just use the division bar '/'. So 1/2 means 1%2F2
