Question 206792: I have no problem when y is on the left side of the equation and then solving it. What I have a problem with is when I have to solve for y and it is on the right side of the equation.
Example: 7x-5y =2 I can solve
but
7x=9y+2 I get so confused in solving. Could you please help?

7x=9y%2B2 Start with the given equation.


7x-2=9y Subtract 2 from both sides.


9y=7x-2 Rearrange the equation. Remember if a=b then b=a

y=%28%287%29%2F%289%29%29x%2B%28-2%29%2F%289%29 Break up the fraction.
