You can put this solution on YOUR website! What is the basic method for graphing a linear equation> ----------------
 Two methods are taught in the schools.
 1st method:Plot two points and draw a line thru them.
 Example:
 y = 3x+4
 If x = 3, y = 3*0+4 = 4, giving you point (3,4)
 If x = -1, y = 3*-1+4 = 1, giving you point (-1,1)

  --------------------------------
 2nd method: Plot the y-intercept and apply the slope to get a 2nd point.
 Example:
 y = 3x+4
 The slope is 3 and the y-intercept is 4
 Put a point at (0,4)
 Since the slope is 3/1, move your pencil 1 to the right and 3 up
 to put a point at (1,7). Then draw the line thru the two points.
