B) Vertex: (- 1/2, - 9/4) ; Intercepts: (-2,0), (1, 0), (0,-2)
C) Vertex: (- 1/2, 9/4) ; Intercepts: (-2,0), (1,0), (0,-2)
D) Vertex: (-1, -18) ; Intercepts: (-2,0), (1,0), (0,2)

the vertex lies on the axis of symmetry ___ x = -b / (2a) = -1 / 2 ___ this eliminates answer A
substituting to find y ___ f(-1/2) = (-1/2)^2 + (-1/2) - 2 = -9/4 ___ answer B is correct
