Justine is baking cupcakes for the bake sale. The recipe calls for 1/2 cup of milk and 2 eggs. The recipe yields 3 dozen cupcakes. Justine has 1 gallon of milk and 2 dozen eggs. How many cupcakes will Justine be able to make?

1 gallon of milk = 4 quarts = 16 cups = 32 half cups. So she has enough
milk for 32 batches of 3 dozen, or 12x3, or 36 cupcakes each, or 32x36 or
1152 cupcakes altogether.

2 dozen eggs = 2x12 = 24 eggs = 12 pairs of eggs. So she has enough
eggs for 12 batches of 3 dozen cupcakes each or 12x36 or 432 cupcakes.

She has just enough eggs to make 432 cookies, with plenty of milk left
over (10 cups) to drink with some of the cupcakes. J
