Let x be the smaller number & y be the larger number.
6x-y=20 or y=6x-20
4x+2y=56
4x+2(6x-20)=56
4x+12x-40=56
16x=56+40
16x=96
x=96/16
x=6 ans.
y=6*6-20
y=36-20
y=16 ans.
Proof:
4*6+2*16=56
24+32=56
56=56
