Question 205407: Proof B

This task is a geometric proof, and you will need to develop logical statements that are supported by reasons. Support each statement with a reason. * i am going to write out the triangle since it wont let me draw it on here. Help me prove triange AGC is isosceles.......?
Draw a triangle with a vertical line down the middle and a horizontal line not necessarily in the middle. Label the vertices of the triangle (starting at the lower left vertex) A,G,C. Label the midpoint of line segment AC (which is the base of the triangle) F. Label the left point of the horizontal line (inside the triangle) B and the right point of the horizontal line D. Now label the point where GF and BD meet as E.
Now that you have this, the given info is: Triangle AGC; Line segment GB is congruent to line segment GD; Angle BGE is congruent to Angle DGE; Line segment GF is perpendicular to line segment AC.
How do I prove the triangle is an Isosceles?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

1. ÐBGE @ ÐDGE 1. Given

2. GF @ GF 2. Any line segment is @ to itself.

3. ÐGFA @ ÐGFC 3. GF ^ AC

4. DGFA @ DGFC 4. ASA

5. GA @ GC 5. cpct

6. DAGC is isosceles. 6. Two sides @
