Jun's age = J
Charlie's age = C

14 years ago:
J - 14 =2*(C-14)
J - 14 = 2C - 28
J = 2C - 28 + 14
J = 2C - 14

Now:
J + C =40
2C - 14 + C =40
3C - 14 = 40
3C = 40 + 14
3C = 54
C = 54/3 = 18
J = 40 - C = 40 - 18 = 22

So Jun's age now is 22 years old, Charlie's age now is 18 years old
