Question 203958: Hi all, I was hoping someone could help me in answering the following 2 problems. They are two similiar problems bbut they are seperate problems and are not related to eachother.
1. Make t the subject of the equation y = sqrt(8t + 3)
2. Make x the subject of the equation y = 3e^(2x).
Any help with steps would be most appreciated.
Thanks, -Nick.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1. Make t the subject of the equation y = sqrt(8t + 3)
y = sqrt%288t%2B3%29
Square both sides:
y^2 = 8t + 3
Subtract 3 from both sides
y^2 - 3 = 8t
Divide both sides by 8
%28y%5E2-3%29%2F8 = t

2. Make x the subject of the equation y = 3e^(2x)
y = 3%2Ae%5E%282x%29
Divide both sides by 3
y%2F3 = e%5E%282x%29
find the natural log of both sides
ln%28y%2F3%29 = ln%28e%5E%282x%29%29
log equiv of exponents:
ln%28y%2F3%29 = 2x%2Aln%28e%29
natural log of e is 1
ln%28y%2F3%29 = 2x
divide both sides by 2
%28ln%28y%2F3%29%29%2F2 = x
