You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Given: 5x%2B4y=12+, line equation

* To find the X & Y Intercepts of the line, we let F(x)=0 to find Y-intercept, & let F(y)=0 to find X-Intercept:
F(x)=0
5%280%29%2B4y=12 ---> 4y=12 ---> cross%284%29y%2Fcross%284%29%2Bcross%2812%293%2Fcross%284%29
red%28y=3%29, Y-Intercept

F(y)=0
5x%2B4%280%29=12 ---> cross%285%29x%2Fcross%285%29=12%2F5
red%28x=2.4%29, X-Intercept

Via Slope Intercept Form, y=mx%2Bb, wheresystem%28m=slope%2C+b=Yintercept%29

Following this form,
5x%2B4y=12 ---> 4y=12-5x ---> cross%284%29y%2Fcross%284%29=%2812-5x%29%2F4
y=12%2F4-5x%2F4
red%28y=-%285%2F4%29x%2B3%29

So the slope=m is red%28-5%2F4%29, and Y-intercept is red%283%29. (Answer)

When x=16;
y=%28-5%2F4%29%2816%29%2B3=-80%2F4%2B3=-20%2B3
red%28y=-17%29, (Answer)

For the Slope=m=-5%2F4=Y_axis%2FX_axis.
From the Y-intercept = (0,3), we moved down 5 steps (-5), and to the right 4 steps (4).
---> See, if you keep doing that, that's where the point on the X-axis & Y-axis meet on the line.

Thank you,
