You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Graph the line containing the given pair of points and find slope.
(6,5) (-1,-3)
-3 - 5
-------
-1 - 6 = -2/5?

Hi.... you are close with your slope, but you got confused when you added your negatives.

Here's the formula for slope........ %28y%5B2%5D-y%5B1%5D%29%2F%28x%5B2%5D-x%5B1%5D%29

SO let's plug in your numbers.... %28-3+-+5%29%2F%28-1+-+6%29

Remember that subtracting is really adding the opposite, so, the above is actually......

%28-3+%2B++-5%29%2F%28-1+%2B+-6%29 which becomes: %28-8%29%2F%28-7%29 and because you have a negative divided by a negative, you get a positive. SO your FINAL answer for the slope is 8%2F7.

Does that help? I hope so..
