Question 203223: Please assist me with this problem. I came up with an answer for the first one but I am not sure it's right. The second one, I can't figure out. Thanks
In a ART class there are 34 students. of these there are 14 males, 4 are Art majors. There are 20 females, 13 are Art majors.
1. What is the probability of randomly selecting a student who is not an Art major? 17/34=1/2
2. If we randomly draw one student each day to go to the art board. What is the probability that we select male students in three successful days?
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1) I got the same amswer you did.
2)I assume that the same person might be drawn each time so none would be eliminated. But are you only drawing art students or are you just trying to draw any male student? The question is are we looking at 4 out of 17, or are we looking at 14 out of 34?
