Question 202866: I need sooo much help... and i gladly appreciate your efforts in trying to teach me logarithms....
the directions are: change each logarithmic expression to an equivalent expression involving an exponent.
some of the questions are:
1) log3^2=x
2) log 2 m=1.3
please if you can explain this in detail i would greatly appreciate it...

You can put this solution on YOUR website! change each logarithmic expression to an equivalent expression involving an exponent.
Log equation: log(base a)b = c
Explanation:
c is the log or exponent or power
a is the base
b is the result or antilog
----------------
Equivalent exponential equation
a^c = b
Notice that "a" is the base, c is the exponent, b is the result.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your problems involve the Laws of Logarithms.
log(ab) = log(a) + log(b)
log(a/b) = log(a) - log(b)
log(a^n) = n*log(a)
------------------------------------------------
some of the questions are:
1) log3^2=x
x = 2*log(3)
-------------------------
2) log 2 m=1.3
If the "2" is the base you get m = 2^1.3 = 2.4623..
If the 2 is multiplying the m you get log(2) + log(m) = 1.3
log(m) = 1.3 - log(2)
log m = 0.99897
m = 10^0.99897..
m = 9.9763...
