You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Assuming the problem is:
%28x%2B2%29%2F2+-+x%2F3+=+5
The simplest way is to multiply both sides by the Lowest Common Denominator (LCD). The LCD in your equation is 6. So:
6%2A%28%28x%2B2%29%2F2+-+x%2F3%29+=+6%2A5
Using the distributive equation on the left we get:
%286%2A%28x+%2B+2%29%29%2F2+-+%286%2Ax%29%2F3+=+30
The fractions reduce to "non-fractions" (which is why we multiplied by the LCD):
3%28x+%2B+2%29+-+2x+=+30
Simplifying the left side we get:
3x+%2B+6+-+2x+=+30
x+%2B+6+=+30
Subtracting 6 from both sides we get:
x+=+24
