Question 202314: . Why is the set of natural numbers an infinite set, but the set of blades of grass outside your residence a finite set? Explain.
I think natural numbers are infinite because there is no defined end to the amount of space you can take up for your answer.
The reason the grass is finite is because you can only have so many blades of grass in a defined space.
i just need to know if this is the right answer

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

No matter how high you count using natural numbers, there is always one more. No end is infinite. While it may take a VERY long time, if you count the blades of grass in your front yard (presuming you are able to define the edges of your yard to the granularity of a blade of grass) you will eventually come to the end. Has an end -- finite.
